Introducing “The Fox’s” — Building a Brand, Not Just an Advertisement
All Your Meals is developing a new character-led advertising concept designed to give the brand a distinctive and recognizable identity. A useful precedent for the strategy is GEICO’s Gecko, where the character became recognizable as an identity for the brand rather than simply a vehicle for delivering individual advertisements. The Gecko can appear in different situations, campaigns, and formats while maintaining a consistent personality that audiences immediately associate with GEICO. Ever notice that the Gecko never directly sells you anything? We’ll get to that.
Similarly, AYM’s Fox’s are intended to develop recognition and familiarity over time, with the characters creating an emotional connection with our company.
Meet Dad Fox and Mom Fox — a talking-animal sitcom couple built around the warmth, humor, and everyday situations of classic family television. The concept places the characters at the center of short, entertaining stories, with All Your Meals naturally integrated into their everyday lives. For example, in one episode, Dad Fox cannot find his favorite coffee mug. While the search continues, the family runs out of time to make dinner, and an All Your Meals meal solves that problem. The mug, however, remains missing.
The Fox’s are intended to function as recurring entertainment characters. They have personalities, relationships, running jokes, and ordinary household problems. All Your Meals is simply part of their routine. This creates an important distinction: the characters entertain; the brand message comes afterward.
Key to Success — They Don’t Directly Sell
Dad Fox and Mom Fox do not quote prices, announce discounts, or tell viewers to buy. Advertising in our industry can easily become repetitive: attractive food, lame messaging, a promotion, and a “buy now” button. How many times have you looked at an Instagram profile of a restaurant and only seen photos of food? Boring!
The Fox’s give AYM the opportunity to build something that will set us apart from the competition on day one of our USA launch: a recognizable entertainment property with its own characters and world. Our Mr. and Mrs. Fox may potentially appear across:
- Short-form video and social media
- Digital advertising
- Email campaigns
- Website content
- Seasonal and holiday promotions
- Customer-retention campaigns
- Launch campaigns
- Print advertising
- Serialized mini-episodes
Building Long-Term Brand Recognition
People will fall in love with the characters. Let the brand benefit from being part of their lives.
The Fox’s are currently a creative concept under development while we refine the message and come up with episode ideas. The intention is to establish Dad Fox and Mom Fox as original AYM characters capable of supporting an ongoing series of campaigns and formats, while keeping All Your Meals naturally integrated into the stories rather than making the characters conventional sales spokespeople.
