All Your Meals — Investor Update: Canadian Operations
You have been reading about our American moves into the marketplace, investment activity and a potential public-market transaction involving our U.S.-focused operations.
But what about Canada, the place where this began?
We live for data and trends, both online and in real life. What is working? What isn't?
I live in Whistler, an international destination with some very high-end establishments as well as plenty of takeout choices, from restaurants to places like Fat Tony's Pizza.
The number one concern I hear about? Labour.
I know this because I am friends with many restaurant owners and managers here. They tell me they cannot find enough people to cover shifts. I see owners bussing tables and working in the dish pit themselves.
Housing for those workers? Good luck.
The joke around town is that if you have (a) a heartbeat and (b) somewhere to live, you can probably get hired.
That is funny until you're the person trying to operate the restaurant.
Canada's restaurant industry continues to face pressure from labour availability, wages, food costs, occupancy costs and changing consumer behaviour. At the same time, customers increasingly expect convenience, predictable pricing and good value.
All Your Meals was designed around many of these shifts.
Our centralized, labour-light production model is built specifically for off-premises consumption, avoiding much of the front- and back-of-house labour and physical infrastructure required by traditional dine-in restaurants.
I am also seeing something affecting nearly everyone: the cost of eating out.
How is it that McDonald's for lunch for two can cost more than $30?
High rents. High labour costs. High food costs. They all eventually reach the customer.
Meanwhile, takeout, delivery and prepared-food consumption have become established parts of how people eat.
This is where we believe the All Your Meals model has an advantage.
Subscription economics can provide predictable weekly food spending for customers while creating recurring consumption and potentially stronger customer lifetime value for the company. Batch purchasing and centralized production are intended to create greater operating efficiency as the business scales.
Canadian Headquarters Update
As part of the continued development of the Canadian business, All Your Meals Canada has moved into a new corporate office in Langley Township, British Columbia.
The company has taken space at The Westlund Building, establishing a dedicated Canadian corporate base for operations, sales, marketing, partnerships and administration.
The office provides private workspace together with meeting and collaboration facilities suitable for partner discussions, investor meetings, recruitment and future team growth.
The move is another step in building the corporate infrastructure needed to support our Canadian expansion as the business moves from infrastructure building toward sales, market development and scalable growth.
Our Future in Canada
The opportunity for All Your Meals in Canada isn't simply about competing with restaurants.
We believe there is a broader reallocation taking place in consumer food spending toward convenient prepared meals, delivery, meal preparation and direct-to-consumer food platforms.
All Your Meals sits at the intersection of efficiency and changing consumer demand, with a business model designed around scalable unit economics and recurring customer relationships.
Our new Langley corporate office strengthens the Canadian operating platform and gives the company a professional base from which to build relationships, manage operations and support future expansion.
Bottom Line
Restaurants will remain an important part of the food economy. But operating a labour-intensive restaurant is becoming increasingly challenging and expensive.
All Your Meals is being built for a different part of that food economy: prepared meals, off-premises consumption, convenience and recurring customer relationships.
We believe that's a significant long-term opportunity in Canada.
